Search Spots or Locations
Spots searches places already shared by the Spot Drop community. Locations searches real-world cities, parks, landmarks, businesses and addresses. Enter a name and press Search. Selecting a Location moves the map there; it does not mean a community Spot already exists there. Choose Drop a Spot here to share your own visit.
Drop a Spot from the map
Long-press anywhere on the map or use Add to start a Drop. Choose the kind of place, name it, and check its location and privacy before saving.
Search for a Place
Know the name but not the area? In Create Spot, search for the place and check the town and country. Select a result to move the pin, then adjust it if needed. Selecting a place does not save a Drop.
Drop a place from a photo location
On the Spot form, choose Use Photo Location and select a photo from your visit. Review the proposed pin, then confirm it. The photo stays on your device during this step. If it has no location, place the pin on the map or enter coordinates instead.
Standard map or satellite?
Use the map-style button on the right to switch between streets and satellite imagery. Changing the background does not move your Spots.
What are Groups?
Groups bring your people together around shared adventures. Find a group, request to join, or start one and invite friends as a Group admin. Joining does not change the visibility of your existing Spots.
Choose who can see your Spot
Public, Friends Only and Private are choices on the Spot form. Check the selection before saving. You can change it later by editing your own Spot. A visibility schedule can make access more restricted over time.
Drop a place worth remembering
Use the Add button or long-press the map to start a Drop. Choose the kind of place, name it and check its location and privacy before saving.
Add somewhere you visited earlier
You do not need to be standing there. On the Spot form, move the location map to the place, tap the right location or drag the pin. You can also enter coordinates. Check that the pin marks the place you mean before saving.
Current location or a different place?
Find my location recenters the discovery map on you. When creating a Spot, Use My Current Location fills the location from your device. For another place, use the location picker instead.
