About this spot
Njupeskär Waterfall is one of the easiest and most rewarding walks in Fulufjället National Park. From the parking area and visitor center, it’s about a 2 km (1.2 mile) walk each way, making the round trip around 4 km (2.5 miles). The trail is well maintained with a mix of wide gravel paths and wooden boardwalks through the forest and wetlands. Most of the walk is gentle, with only a few steeper sections near the waterfall. A good pair of walking shoes is all you really need. At the end of the trail, you’ll be standing in front of Sweden’s highest waterfall. Njupeskär drops an impressive 93 meters (305 feet), with a 70-meter free fall that sends mist into the air and echoes through the canyon. This is a great walk for families, photographers, and anyone wanting to experience the beauty of Fulufjället without a difficult hike. Take your time, enjoy the old forest, and keep an eye out for wildlife along the way. The journey is just as enjoyable as the destination.
